1. Our Commitment to Your Privacy

Welcome to Noteclave, an application ("Service," "App") developed and operated by Nascentra Labs ("we," "us," "our"). At Nascentra Labs, we believe that privacy is a fundamental human right. This belief is the cornerstone of Noteclave, which has been engineered from the ground up to provide a secure, private, and user-controlled environment for your data.

This Privacy Policy provides a detailed explanation of our data handling practices. It is not just a legal document but our pact with you. Our promise is simple and absolute: Your data is yours. Period.

By using Noteclave, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. The Offline-First Architecture: Privacy by Design

Noteclave operates on an offline-first, zero-knowledge architecture. This is a critical distinction from cloud-based services.

• Offline-First: All data you create, import, or store within Noteclave—including notes, sketches, documents, photos, and videos—resides exclusively and entirely within the application's secure container on your personal device.
• Zero-Knowledge: We do not operate servers that store or process your personal content. Consequently, we have no technical means to access, view, share, or decrypt any of the content you store in the App, particularly within the encrypted Vault.

3. Data We Do Not Process (No Data Collection)

To fulfill our privacy promise, we have intentionally built Noteclave to NOT collect or process any data that can identify you or your activities. We strictly do not collect:

• Personal Identifiers: Your name, email address, phone number, age, gender, or physical address.
• Account Information: Noteclave requires no user registration or account creation. Your use of the App is entirely anonymous.
• Usage Analytics & Telemetry: We do not use any tracking software, analytics services, or telemetry to monitor your interaction with the App. We do not know which features you use, how frequently you use them, or the content of your notes.
• Device & Network Information: We do not collect unique device identifiers (e.g., IMEI, MAC address), IP addresses, or network information.
• Sensitive Information: The app does not access your contacts, precise or approximate GPS location, or calendar information.

4. Data You Provide: How It Is Stored and Secured

The only data processed by Noteclave is the data you explicitly create or import. This data is handled with the following security protocols:

• The Notepad: Standard notes are stored in a private, local SQLite database on your device. While this standard data is not encrypted at the application layer, it is sandboxed and protected by the robust security features of your mobile operating system.
• The Secure Vault: The Vault is the core of Noteclave's security. Any content you create within or move to the Vault—including text, sketches, photos, videos, audio files, and PDFs—is subject to multiple layers of protection:
  • Mandatory Encryption: Every file and database entry within the Vault is encrypted at rest using industry-standard, authenticated encryption algorithms. Your data is rendered computationally indecipherable without your unique password.
  • User-Controlled Access: The Vault can only be unlocked and its contents decrypted by you, using the password you set. This password is known only to you.
  • Password Security: We do not store your Vault password. We store a secure cryptographic hash of it, which allows us to verify your password without ever knowing what it is.

5. Features and Data Handling in Detail

• File Import/Export: Noteclave can import files from your device's storage and export files from the Vault. This requires your explicit action and permission. The App only accesses the specific files and folders you select.
• Recycle Bin: For your convenience, files deleted from the Vault are moved to a secure, in-app Recycle Bin for a 30-day period before being permanently erased. This feature operates entirely on-device.
• Password Recovery: Because we have no access to your password, we provide you with a secure, self-managed recovery mechanism (such as a recovery phrase). It is your sole responsibility to safeguard this recovery information. Loss of both your password and your recovery information will result in the permanent, irreversible loss of your encrypted Vault data.
• Auto-Lock: The Vault is designed to lock automatically after a period of inactivity, which you can configure in the settings. This protects your data from unauthorized physical access to your device.

6. Your Rights Regarding Your Data

In alignment with global data protection principles, you maintain complete rights over your data because it never leaves your device. These rights include:

• Right to Access: You can access your data at any time by opening the App.
• Right to Rectification: You can edit and modify your data at any time.
• Right to Erasure: You can permanently delete your data at any time. Uninstalling the App will also permanently erase all associated data from your device.
• Right to Portability: You can export your data from the Vault to your device's local storage at any time.

7. Data Processing and Third Parties

Noteclave is a self-contained application. We do not share any data with third parties, as we do not collect any data to begin with. The App does not contain third-party SDKs for advertising, analytics, or social media integration.

8. Children's Privacy

This Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect, use, or process any information from children.

9. Policy Updates

We may amend this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the App's functionality or for legal and regulatory reasons. We will notify you of any material changes by providing a notice within the App. Your continued use of the Service after such a notice constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
