Terms of Use

Last Updated: February 22, 2026

1. Acceptance of the Terms and Conditions

Welcome to Nascentra Sentinel. By installing, accessing, or using the Sentinel Chrome Extension (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use ("Terms"). These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Nascentra. If you are using the Service on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that organization to these Terms. If you do not agree to all of these Terms, you are strictly prohibited from using the Service and must uninstall the extension immediately. Your continued use of the Service signifies your acceptance of any future modifications we may make to these Terms, which will be communicated through the extension's update interface.

2. Description of the Sentinel Service

Sentinel is a client-side security tool designed to monitor and protect user privacy on specific AI platforms. The Service provides real-time detection of Personally Identifiable Information (PII), automated data masking, and a secure, encrypted prompt library. Sentinel acts as an intermediary layer between your browser's input fields and the AI's servers. It is important to understand that Sentinel is a tool intended to assist with privacy, but it does not replace the user's responsibility to exercise caution when sharing sensitive data. The Service is provided "as is," and while we strive for 100% detection accuracy, the complexity of human language means that some sensitive data may occasionally go undetected.

3. License Grant and Usage Restrictions

Nascentra grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the Sentinel extension for its intended purpose. This license is for your use only and does not include the right to redistribute, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service. You agree not to: (a) modify, disassemble, decompile, or reverse engineer any part of the Service; (b) use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any local, state, national, or international law; (c) attempt to bypass any security measures or encryption protocols built into the extension; or (d) use the Service to build a competitive product. Any violation of these restrictions will result in the immediate termination of your license.

4. Zero-Knowledge Architecture and User Responsibility

A core feature of Sentinel is its "Zero-Knowledge" architecture. This means that Nascentra does not have access to your chat history, your saved prompts, or your PII. All data processing occurs locally on your device. Consequently, you are solely responsible for the management and backup of your data. If you delete the extension or lose access to your Chrome profile, your saved prompts and settings will be lost, as we do not maintain server-side backups. We provide an export tool within the settings menu and strongly encourage you to use it regularly. By using Sentinel, you acknowledge that Nascentra cannot recover any lost data for you due to this privacy-first technical design.

5. Third-Party Platforms and Compliance

Sentinel is designed to interface with third-party AI platforms such as ChatGPT (OpenAI), Claude (Anthropic), and Gemini (Google). Use of Sentinel does not exempt you from the Terms of Service of those respective platforms. You are responsible for ensuring that your use of Sentinel complies with the rules and policies of the websites you visit. Nascentra is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google. While Sentinel is designed to enhance your privacy on these sites, we cannot guarantee that these platforms will not change their code in a way that temporarily disrupts Sentinel's functionality. We will attempt to provide updates to restore compatibility in such cases.

6. Intellectual Property Rights and Ownership

The Service, including its code, design, icons, logo, and brand name "Sentinel," is the exclusive property of Nascentra and is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any ownership rights in the Service. You may provide feedback, suggestions, or ideas regarding the Service, and by doing so, you grant Nascentra a perpetual, royalty-free, worldwide license to use and incorporate such feedback into the Service without any obligation to compensate you. The "Shield" icon and the violet-themed dark-mode UI are specific brand assets of Nascentra and may not be used without our prior written consent.

7. PII Detection Heuristics and Limitation of Accuracy

Sentinel uses regex-based pattern matching to detect PII. While our patterns are comprehensive and cover 15+ provider formats for API keys, branded credit cards, and international phone numbers, they are based on heuristics. You acknowledge that "PII Detection" is not an exact science. Certain strings may trigger "False Positives" (labeling non-sensitive data as PII) or "False Negatives" (failing to catch actual PII). Sentinel is a supplementary security tool and should be used as part of a broader data safety strategy. You should always manually verify the content of your messages before submitting them to an AI, regardless of the status indicated by the Sentinel Shield icon.

8. Encryption Protocols and Data Security

Nascentra employs industry-standard encryption (AES-256-GCM) to protect your local prompt library. However, no security measure is perfect. The security of your data also depends on the security of your device and your browser profile. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your computer and preventing unauthorized access to your extension. If your device is compromised by malware or unauthorized physical access, the data stored within Sentinel could potentially be at risk. Nascentra is not liable for data breaches that occur due to vulnerabilities in your operating system, browser, or hardware, or due to your failure to secure your local environment.

9. User Content and Privacy Shielding

You retain all rights to the content you type and the prompts you save within Sentinel. Nascentra does not claim any ownership over your data. Sentinel's "Mask All" and "Selective Masking" features are designed to help you strip sensitive content before it reaches the AI's servers. By using these features, you are modifying the data that is sent to the third-party AI. Nascentra is not responsible for any degradation in the quality of the AI's responses that may result from the removal of information. Our goal is to provide you with the tools to balance privacy and utility, but the final decision on what to mask remains entirely yours.

10. Termination of Use and Account Deletion

You may stop using Sentinel at any time by uninstalling the extension. Nascentra also reserves the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at our sole discretion, without notice, for any conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users or the Service itself. Upon termination, all rights and licenses granted to you under these Terms will immediately cease. Because your data is stored locally, uninstalling the extension will delete all your settings and prompts. We are not responsible for the loss of any data resulting from the termination of your use of the Service, whether initiated by you or by us.

11. Disclaimer of Warranties (AS-IS)

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. NASCENTRA EXPRESSLY DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, TIMELY, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE, NOR DO WE MAKE ANY WARRANTY AS TO THE RESULTS THAT MAY BE OBTAINED FROM THE USE OF THE SERVICE. ANY MATERIAL DOWNLOADED OR OTHERWISE OBTAINED THROUGH THE USE OF THE SERVICE IS DONE AT YOUR OWN DISCRETION AND RISK, AND YOU WILL BE SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE TO YOUR COMPUTER SYSTEM OR LOSS OF DATA.

12. Limitation of Liability and Indemnification

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, NASCENTRA SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUES, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM: (A) YOUR ACCESS TO OR USE OF OR INABILITY TO ACCESS OR USE THE SERVICE; (B) ANY CONDUCT OR CONTENT OF ANY THIRD PARTY ON THE SERVICE; OR (C) UNAUTHORIZED ACCESS, USE, OR ALTERATION OF YOUR CONTENT. IN NO EVENT SHALL THE AGGREGATE LIABILITY OF NASCENTRA EXCEED THE AMOUNT PAID BY YOU, IF ANY, FOR THE USE OF THE SERVICE DURING THE TWELVE MONTHS PRIOR TO THE CLAIM.

13. Indemnification for User Actions

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Nascentra, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses, including reasonable legal fees, arising out of or in any way connected with: (a) your access to or use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any third-party right, including any intellectual property right or privacy right; or (d) any claim that your content caused damage to a third party. This obligation will survive the termination of these Terms and your use of the Service, ensuring that Nascentra is protected against legal repercussions resulting from your misuse of the tool.

14. Modifications to the Service and Terms

Nascentra is constantly innovating and improving Sentinel. We reserve the right to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. We may also update these Terms from time to time to reflect changes in the law or our business practices. If we make significant changes, we will notify you through the extension's user interface. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms. If you do not agree to the modified Terms, you should discontinue your use of the Service and uninstall the extension.

15. Export Control and International Sanctions

The Service may be subject to export control and economic sanctions laws of various jurisdictions. You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You agree to comply with all applicable export laws and regulations. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of Sentinel is permitted in your country of residence and that your use does not violate any local laws or international treaties regarding the encryption or transfer of software.

16. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which Nascentra is headquartered, without regard to its conflict of law principles. You agree that any legal action or proceeding arising out of or related to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts located within that jurisdiction. You hereby consent to the personal jurisdiction and venue of such courts. If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect. Our failure to enforce any right or provision of these Terms will not be deemed a waiver of such right or provision.

17. Entire Agreement and Contact Information

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and Nascentra regarding the Service and supersede all prior or contemporaneous communications and proposals, whether electronic, oral, or written. A printed version of these Terms and of any notice given in electronic form shall be admissible in judicial or administrative proceedings. We welcome your questions and comments about these Terms. If you have any inquiries regarding the legal usage of Sentinel or wish to report a violation of these terms, please contact our legal team. We are dedicated to providing a secure and professional environment for all our users.
