1. Our Unwavering Commitment to Your Privacy

Welcome to Noteclave ("Service," "App"), developed by Nascentra Labs ("we," "us," "our"). At Nascentra Labs, we believe privacy is a fundamental human right. This belief is the cornerstone of Noteclave, which has been engineered from the ground up to provide a secure, private, and user-controlled environment for your personal information.

This Privacy Policy is our pact with you. It explains in detail what information is—and, more importantly, is not—processed by our App. Our core promise remains absolute: Your personal content (notes, files, photos) is yours and yours alone.

By using Noteclave, you acknowledge and agree to the terms outlined in this policy.

2. Our Core Principle: Offline-First & User-Controlled

Noteclave is built on an offline-first architecture so you remain the direct steward of your workspace.

  • Offline-First: All of the personal content you create or import into Noteclave resides exclusively within the application's secure container on your personal device.
  • User-Controlled Sync: We do not operate central servers that store or process your personal content. Optional sync features only use services you explicitly authorise, and you can disable them at any time.

3. The Information We Process (And Why)

To be fully transparent, we have categorized the data the App handles into three types:

a) Information You Provide to Us (Your Content)

This is the data you create and manage, such as notes, sketches, documents, photos, and videos. As per our core principle, this data is stored only on your device and is not transmitted to us.

b) Information for In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

If you choose to purchase NoteClave Premium, the transaction is processed securely through the Google Play Store.

  • We Do Not See Your Financial Information: We do not collect, receive, or store any of your payment information, such as credit card numbers. This is handled entirely by Google.
  • We Receive Purchase Validation: We only receive a transaction confirmation token from Google to verify your purchase and unlock the premium features in the app.

c) Anonymized Information for App Improvement & Stability

To maintain and improve the App, we use industry-standard services that collect a limited amount of anonymous, non-personal data. This data cannot be used to identify you and is never linked to the content of your notes.

  • Usage Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase): We collect anonymous, aggregated data to understand how users interact with our app. This includes information like which features are most popular, session durations, and general user engagement. This helps us make informed decisions about future improvements. This service uses the Advertising ID for aggregated analytics.
  • Crash Reporting (Firebase Crashlytics): To fix bugs and improve stability, we collect anonymized crash reports. If the app crashes, a report containing technical information (like your device type, OS version, and the state of the app at the time of the crash) is sent to us. These reports never contain any of your personal content from your notes or workspace.

4. How Your Content Is Stewarded on Your Device

  • Workspace Container: Standard notes are stored in a private, local SQLite database on your device, protected by the security features of your mobile operating system.
  • Protected Collections: Items you mark as protected stay within the same container and require your in-app passcode to open. The passcode never leaves your device.
  • Backups You Control: Optional sync or backup features rely on storage locations you choose, and you can review or delete them at any time.

5. Permissions Required by Noteclave

To provide its services, Noteclave requires the following permissions on your device:

  • com.android.vending.BILLING: Required to handle in-app purchases for NoteClave Premium through the Google Play Store.
  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Required by Google Analytics for Firebase to collect anonymous usage statistics to help us improve the app.
  • android.permission.READ_MEDIA_IMAGES / READ_MEDIA_VIDEO / READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Required only when you explicitly choose to import photos, videos, or other files from your device's storage into Noteclave. The app only accesses the specific files you select.
  • android.permission.POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Required to send you reminders that you have set within the app.

6. Data Sharing with Third Parties

  • Your Personal Content: We will never share your personal content with anyone, because we cannot access it.
  • Anonymized Data: Anonymous and aggregated analytics and crash report data are processed by Google's Firebase services on our behalf for the sole purpose of improving the app. We do not share this data with any other third parties.

7. Your Data Rights and Choices

Because your personal content resides on your device, you have complete control over it.

  • Your Rights: You have the right to access, edit, delete, and export your data at any time directly within the app. Uninstalling the app will permanently erase all of its data from your device.
  • Opting-Out of Personalized Advertising: You can opt-out of the use of the Advertising ID for personalized ads by going to your device's Settings > Google > Ads and resetting or opting out of ad personalization. This will not stop the collection of anonymous analytics needed to improve our app.

8. Children's Privacy

Noteclave is not directed at individuals under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by providing a notice within the App. Your continued use of the Service after such a notice constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
